Dead in Tombstone is a 2013 American direct-to-video horror Western motion picture produced by Universal 1440 Amusement. Information technology was directed by Roel Reiné and written by Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles. The motion-picture show stars Danny Trejo as Guerrero, a gang leader who gets double-crossed by his swain gang members. Hitting a pact with the Devil later inbound Hell, he resurfaces to the earthly world to avenge his ain expiry by killing the men who murdered him. The picture show was released in home media on October 22, 2013, and was followed by a sequel, Expressionless Again in Tombstone (2017).

Plot [edit]

In the borderland of the Wild West, Red Cavanaugh is to exist hanged for his crimes. Calm, he says that every human being at the gallows volition be dead before sunrise. Moments later, the Blackwater Gang – Baptiste, Darko, Ramos, Snake, and Washington – arrive led past Red's half-blood brother Guerrero De La Cruz. Waking sometime later, he explains to Father Paul and her about his situation. Showing him Darko'southward dead torso, whom he had killed during the saloon brawl, Calathea agrees to help him, and the 2 make their fashion to the mine.

In the mine, Judah Clark, a marshal, is revealed to exist aiding Red and protecting him for admission to the gold. They leave Washington and Snake to finish off Guerrero, but he turns the tables and kills Washington as Calathea and he escape back to town with his trunk. Later on an intense hunt, they return to boondocks. In a stand-off, Guerrero kills Snake with a gunshot to the heart, but he is apace shot down and Calathea is captured. Match, however intrigued by Guerrero's tenacity, returns him to life with one 60 minutes remaining on his deadline. After a mob tries to kill Red, he takes Calathea convict and confronts his brother, who convinces him to a fair duel. Friction match cheats with seconds remaining on the clock, and Red and Guerrero instead battle past hand. Guerrero gains the upper hand and kills Reddish, only two minutes after his time is up.

Entering the church, Lucifer informs Guerrero of his failure, simply does not desire to condemn him to Hell. Instead, he forces Guerrero to impale outlaws to pay off his debt. At present, with Edendale out of danger, Guerrero rides off into the countryside, looking for his next bounty to collect for Hell.

Danny Trejo signed on as Guerrero, leader of the Blackwater Gang. Anthony Michael Hall played Guerrero's traitorous half-blood brother, Scarlet. Mickey Rourke was bandage as the Devil.[6] The picture show was directed by Roel Reine and written by Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles.[7] Filming commenced in around April 2012. Filming locations included Bucharest.[6]

For the pic'southward music, managing director Reine wanted "a gimmicky score for a traditional film with a unique twist". The music was composed by British electronic music grouping Hybrid, comprising Michael Truman, Chris Healings, and Charlotte James. Release [edit]

Early reports stated that the film would be released in Dec 2012,[9] merely this proved to exist untrue. Dead in Tombstone was outset released on digital download platforms on Oct eight, 2013.[six] It was released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 22, 2013.[1]

Reception [edit]

Scott Weinberg of Fearnet chosen it "visually amusing, but narratively barren".[x] Tyler Foster of DVD Talk rated it 2/five stars and wrote that the film wastes a great thought with inept directing.[11] Patrick Naugle of DVD Verdict wrote that the execution does non live up to the "fascinating concept".[12] David Maine of Pop Matters rated it 6/ten stars and called it enjoyable for what it is.[13]

Sequel [edit]

In 2017, Danny Trejo reprised his function for Dead Again in Tombstone, also directed past Roel Reiné.
