To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don't use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Before going over the bad, i have to say that even though some of it wasn't put together properly from the factory it still worked, and allowed me to use my aftermarket grant wheel on my 1988 Lincoln. The good part is that it all worked, it went straight onto the existing hub, and you dont have to break out any huge tools to put it on. You need just a few sockets, a ratchet, and 30 minutes max to install it. The bad is that the hub covers come in a glossy black color that honestly would look a lot better chrome or even not painted and left alone for the buyer to decide to paint or not. I sanded the paint off to give it at least a decent look, as my interior is tan/beige and the wheel is chrome, neither of which match a black cover. The worst thing about this install kit is the way they glue the hub to the backing plate thing (in the picture, its the thing with 2 wires). In the picture you see, it is perfectly centered with the aluminum hub. In the kit i got, it was off center and glue was all over the wires and hub. Looked like a kindergartner was doing these or something. Because of this issue, it snapped a grounding pin on my steering column and the horn wouldnt work. I had to instead use one wire and not use the contact plate for it to work again.

Overall, it does its job and all works after a bit of experimenting and trial and error. They need better quality control, and need to not paint the hub covers and let the buyer decide on what they want to do with them instead.

Eh, it worked to install the steering wheel, but the way the contact slip ring was glued to the cast part that attached to the steer shaft was horrific.

I honestly feel like I could have glued it on with more accuracy if I was blindfolded and completely hammered... it was clearly not even close to being straight. This results now in my horn being activated without hitting the actual button when I turn my steering wheel to a certain position, since the contacts go off the copper runs they are supposed to be on and it shorts out.

I have try wiring my horn to the other contact to see if that helps, but I shouldn't even have to do this.... how hard is it to have a little quality control and make sure stuff is straight before leaving the factory? Very annoying.

Upon installation, the backside of the horn ring-contact has 2 large solder bulbs that will shear off the steering column horn contacts (installer must make modifications there or have no horn function). After torqueing the wheel center nut to the specified torque settings, the wheel has gone loose numerous times and needs to be retorqued often (possible installation kit center hub pot metal has fatigued upon initial installation). Very poor design and construction. Highly consider another brand over this one.

Installed this kit on my 2011 Crown Victoria police interceptor. Didn't use the horn parts because I rewired my horn to a horn button on the dash. I highly recommend getting the Grant 4000 2" extension kit as well. Now I can sit back farther from the dash and my legs and knees are away from hitting dash. All works great with the Grant steering wheel.

Took some modifications for the spring to work, in my application - 1985 Ford Ranger. But kit installed fine and new steering wheel is installed too.
